A stylish, modern wedding venue
Old Down Manor, with is modernised interior and 66 acres of grounds, offers excited and loved up couple ample opportunity to make the most of their big day and really live it up.
The Manor was built in 1856 on a scarp of land that affords you and your guests unrestricted views west to the Severn estuary and bridge. The Manor has had several owners including those closely associated with the Great Western Railway and Mike Oldfield of Tubular Bells fame
Bob the rebuilder
The house was a residential home until 1953 when it was gutted by fire. It was rebuilt in 1971 and used for residential purposes until the present owners bought it with the aim to modernise the property into the wedding and events venue you see today.
Five star quality
The refurbishment included the modernisation of the house and the surrounding gardens to create a 5 star Wedding and Event Venue and a 66-acre Family Country Park. Features include a spectacular Orangery, intimate Bar, indoor Swimming Pool and Cellar Night Club.
A place to get lost in
The gardens in front of the house offer plenty of lawn space for games and a marquee. The lawn soon falls down leading to a rockery and a lake; all of which offer great potential for exploration and romantic photography.
Here’s what Old Down says on the website:
The Manor includes 13 luxury bedrooms and, if you need them, there are a further two cottages on the estate where an additional 26 people can be accommodated ensuring that you and your guests can really make a weekend of it.
There is a resident catering team to ensure you are well fed morning through to night. The Manor offers a number of packages depending on your requirements and prices start from £4,894 for the Manor and £1,200 for the Barn.
